If you ever thought that a luxury dinner could not be an informal, fun party and an enjoyment for all the senses, The Kitchen by Hermès came to break this concept.
This event, which is becoming a global tradition for the iconic French luxury brand, landed in Madrid after visiting New York, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Sao Paolo. For this Hermès commissioned SOMOS Experiences to transform the Satellite Pavilion at Casa de Campo into a sensory masterpiece.
It was decided to make a secret entrance through a concrete corridor lit in the iconic orange that led to an elegant hall upholstered in different coloured fabrics. Afterwards, the more than 250 guests, including fashion influencers and figures from the trade press, entered a fictitious restaurant with walls that reproduced the pattern of an iconic Hermès scarf. But something wasn't right... the décor was simple, the number of seats available wasn't enough for the guests there... ‘What do we do, how do we sit, what's my seat’... These were the questions asked by the guests. Until, to everyone's surprise, a group of actors/chefs burst into the ‘controlled chaos’ to provide a solution to the ‘problem’ by taking the guests through fictitious corridors to where the parties always end ... to the Kitchen. In this way the kitchen set up for the occasion became the epicentre of the experience. It was like being in the bowels of one of the best restaurants in the world, but with a difference: the chefs not only prepared the dishes, but also shared their art, guided by chef Javier Bonet from Sala de Despiece.
This is where the magic began: the chefs and waiters, dressed in uniforms created by the brand, not only served, but also became the protagonists of spontaneous choreographies. Kitchen utensils were transformed into musical instruments, and the dinner became an immersive spectacle that defied all conventions.
The grand finale came with a cake parade: hand-sculpted cakes in the shape of Hermès' most iconic products formed a musical batucada in which guests joined in with laughter and dancing. The evening culminated with a DJ set by Argia, creating the perfect atmosphere to round off a unique experience that only The Kitchen could offer.
At a time when experiences are becoming more and more predictable, the creativity of Hermès surprises with unique and unexpected concepts and, on this occasion, with the help of SOMOS Experiences, it was demonstrated that luxury can also be a feast for the soul.
